Three US servicemen have been killed, and at least 34 others injured in the attack.

Seven individuals and one organisation linked to Iran have been sanctioned by the UK in co-ordination with the US, the Foreign Office has announced.
The new package of sanctions targets members of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Unit 840, which was exposed in an ITV report into plots to assassinate two television presenters from news channel Iran International in the UK.
Foreign Secretary David Cameron said Iran's regime and criminal gangs "pose an unacceptable threat to the UK's security" and Britain "will not tolerate this threat".

In the investment world, there's many different ways you can invest your money. One would be stocks -- You buy a small piece of a company, and if the company does well you're piece is worth more...maybe it even pays a dividend.
Then there are bonds -- you along with others pool your money together to loan out to companies and they pay you a fixed rate over the long term. Definitely considered more "stable" than stocks, but with a much smaller return as well due to its safety over stocks. Of course there are gold, commodities such as oil, mutual funds and many others, but today we're going to be talking about real estate.
Real estate is viewed as a middle of the road type of investment vehicle to park your money. It does fairly well -- on average better than bonds -- and it's relatively safer than stocks. However, most new investors are unfamiliar with how to actually START investing in real estate. There are four factors or questions you need to ask yourself as an investor. These topics are in regards to capital -- or money -- goals, type and location.
The first and foremost thing needed to start investing in real estate is money. Practically every property type requires a buyer to put down between 25-40%. In fact, there are going to be times where you may not even be able to get financing. For instance, if you're looking into buying a $2M office complex that's fully leased and producing stable income, you will need a sizable 30-35% down payment.
If the same $2M property is an apartment, you may be able to get away with 20-30% down payment. BUT, if the building is empty, or only produces a very small income, then you are likely going to have to pay all cash. This is because the income that the property generates must pay for all the expenses, including the mortgage, and then some as discussed in my "commercial loan process" video.
The second question you must answer as an investor is, "What are my ultimate long term goals?" Of course, your likely answer is to make more money! But you need to be more detailed than that. Do you want to hold all your property forever and only base your decisions on rental income?
Do you plan on buying properties that are distressed, only to lease them up and flip them for a higher price as I've talked about in my "Value Add Properties" video? These are just a few of the decisions you really have to answer before you start buying.
The final factors you have to address are what property type you plan on investing in and what locations you're willing to go to. In regards to location, most novice investor prefer to stay local, since they know their areas. But your local market, wherever it may be, may not be as stable as one of the large markets such as the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Los Angeles, New York and so forth.
Investing isn't something you should ever JUMP into. Regardless of if you're considering stocks, bonds or real estate, you should always educate yourself as much as possible to make an intelligent and informed decision. After all, we're talking about YOU'RE MONEY.
The problem is most people never take the time to do so...I mean with work, family,...life in general, it's completely understandable. The good thing is that there are people in each field who would gladly help out and answer any questions you may have. It's YOUR responsibility to seek it out...now that's good to know.

An enormous Arctic air mass outbreak hit the United States, setting record cold temperatures across the country. Where I live was not spared. Deadly cold came for my garden, and I couldn't protect it because I was on vacation. My garden and fruit trees took the full force of the severe cold weather, and this is what happened.
This cold event put my cold protection methods to the test. I did my best to prepare for cold weather in advance, but I could not be there to monitor the conditions. My citrus trees, avocado tree, fig trees and vegetable garden endured multiple nights in the teens during this cold outbreak.

I'm rather impressed with Instagram. Here's yet another photo sharing app that simply with its introduction has dominated an incredibly crowded space. To get a little insight in the development secrets of Instagram, I spoke with the CEO, Kevin Systrom, at the Mobilize conference in San Francisco.
Understand the difficulties of mobile development vs. the web
Compared to mobile, web development is easy. Mobile development simply compounds the problems you have on the web. Here are Systrom's examples:
More languages to manage -- You have to deal with other languages beyond HTML and Javascript such as Objective-C and other native languages.
Phone behavior varies -- Computer access is standardized. Not so with phones.
Manage connectivity -- Not a concern with web apps today, but a huge concern with phone apps that fall onto the EDGE network or disconnect completely. How can your app handle that? Many apps simply shut down or freeze once the phone hits the EDGE network. You have to optimize your output for speed and inactivity of network.
The best feature is less features
There are an endless number of photo sharing apps. How did Instagram succeed in such a crowded field, I asked Systrom.
He believes their success has to do with elements they didn't put into the app. They purposely removed extraneous features and made it very simple to use.
For example, to Systrom, speed of upload is a major feature of Instagram. One way to get there was to reduce the quality of their images. It's kind of counterintuitive to a photo app, but it worked. In their most recent update of Instagram, they've reduced the filter render times from 4 seconds down to 4 milliseconds. That's made a huge impact on application speed.
Lastly, filters, which traditionally have been an extra unused add-on slapped onto most image editing and sharing programs are actually integral to the upload process for Instagram, and are used for 2/3rds of all uploads, said Systrom.
Move quickly and get the details right
"Putting out half-baked apps in mobile is the worst thing you can do," said Systrom.
While users will put up with lack of functionality in Web development, and you have the flexibility of multiple iterations, you can't do the same in mobile. Systrom's advice is to do fewer things, but do fewer things better. Focus on the details that matter.
Systrom suggest you list out three things that matter most about your app and make sure every detail about that is working for your app. For Instagram those three things were application speed, distribution to other networks, and speed of upload.

Prolonged psychological stress is the enemy of our mental health, and physical movement is our best weapon to respond. Leon Taylor is a former competitive diver who competed for TeamGB at three Olympic Games. Following retirement, he transitioned to the commentary booth where he works for the BBC. Leon has a passion for performance, wellness and movement spending much of his time now as a speaker, executive coach, and mentor to the next generation of sports stars. His enthusiasm and skill for mentoring have allowed him to work with a range of athletes across Olympic and Paralympic sports. Around one billion people struggle with stress-related illness globally - and that figure is rising. What protects those with good mental health? Is their resilience innate? Or is the ability to withstand chronic stress and crisis something that can be learned?
In the search for answers, the film visits some of the leading figures in resilience research. The filmmakers also interview epigeneticists and neuroscientists. In the largest European resilience center in Mainz, Germany, researchers conduct a long-term study to explore the mechanisms deployed by people who enjoy good mental health despite stress and crisis. In southern France, the film meets Boris Cyrulnik, a pioneer of resilience research. His credo: when it comes to resilient behavior, it’s not just down to us - society and politics also have a responsibility to create appropriate conditions for stable psychological health. And the film tells the moving story of two families united by tragedy: following the violent death of their two sons, who were friends, they struggle to find their way back to some semblance of normal life.
Our experiences, our environment and our genes - all influence our powers of mental resilience. Resilience isn’t a magic word or a promise of happiness, but a life-long learning process.
